Time Warner Cable ARRIS DG1670A VPN Problems fixed

I spent a few days dealing with a problem. I changed to a new ISP Time Warner Cable, they offer a wonderful speed, no problems at all while surfing several devices within our home network, but VPN to office wasn't working fine.

I could establish VPN connection even I got another IP (from the range designated for VPN connections), but it was impossible to use our office services.

After a few long calls to TWC support, I noticed that the only services we could use where those we made reference without using the hostname, in other words, we just could use those services using the host IP.

Even browsing the internet after get connected thru VPN was not possible, for example, to get into google we typed the IP on the address bar 216.58.217.142

TWC Support was not able to give me any idea, but I searched a little bit more about the DNS configuration of ARRIS DG1670A. To fix it was so easy!!!

I'm not sure why, but TWC DNSs where not resolving any hosts, so I gave a shot to a small change:
A. I went to the Arris configuration panel and scrolled to the heading of DNS Override. This is where you override your ISPs DNS server.

B. I checked in the box labeled Enable DNS Override (but before I took note of the original IPs)

C. In the primary address DNS server I used 8.8.8.8 which belongs to Google Public DNS.

D. In Secondary DNS Server I used 208.67.222.222 which belongs to OpenDNS.

E. And in the third DNS server addresses I used one of the original ones.

F. Finally, I checked in the box labeled Enable DNS Relayand pushed apply.

You may probably think it's not correct to mix DNSs, I agree, but I'm sharing how I fixed a problem that seems to be causing headaches, so you maybe have another set of DNS addresses that can fix the problem. Now I enjoy the TWC speed and I can access the office network.
